My job sometimes gives me a leverage that I desperately look for a break. Being responsible for the performance of a unit and team of Auditors, I am always on the run giving my best in terms of setting goals and standards, guiding them to achieve them and maintaining discipline and harmony among the employees.

I took a short break and after very hectic job schedule. I planned my journey to Delhi and it turned out to be worth remembering. Delhi the capital city of India has many things to offer. I live in Agra and as it was a very short distance from Agra to Delhi I searched for Agra to Delhi trains and booked my ticket in Intercity Express.

Experiencing Great Pleasure and Happiness Seeing Places

I should admit that I get over my stress and find new vigor when I go on sightseeing to beautiful places. And this time it was never different; in fact, it turned out to be a mind-blowing experience. My first visit was to the Swaminarayan Akshardham, which is situated in Akshardham Setu in New Delhi. Since the darshan time was from 9.30 am to 8.00 pm, I did not have any difficulty in planning my visit.

Walking in I was greeted by at the gates Swagatam, where I got a guidebook and proceeded to the Myur Dwar to enjoy the architecture. I saw the Charanarvind – Holy foot prints there and made a wish. Next, I was led to the Mandir, where I offered prayers at the Garbhagruh. I also stayed a while at the Abishek Mandap participating in the prayer. The exhibition, water show and thematic gardens were stunning and are worth watching.

The next day, I started off to the Qutub Minar, a 73-meter tower symbolizing the victory of Qutub –ud-din Aibak by defeating the last Hindu King. Located in Mehrauli, the tower offers exquisite architecture of the Mughal. Paying Rs.30 for entry, I walked inside exploring each of the five storeys. Made of red sandstone, the first three storeys looked marvelous; the other two was made of marble and red sandstone.

The architecture looked impressive but there was the saddest part that the materials obtained were from demolishing the temples. It was getting late and I hurriedly visited the mosque and moved on to the next destination, which was the Iskon Temple. Situated on the Chord Road in Rajaji Nagar, the temple is built to circulate Krishna consciousness. I enjoyed the tranquility there and offered my prayers to the Lord and took part in some religious activities.
